Acupuncture is a technique of inserting and manipulating needles at specific points around the body, known as acupuncture points. Acupuncture is used to change the way the body energy systems operate, to provide a balance when there is an imbalance/blockage, such as disease or pain etc.
What can acupuncture help with? Acupuncture can help with most health problems, particularly quick when it comes to aches and pains, and stress-related issues such as insomnia, anxiety or depression. Acupuncture needles go to different points depends on the purpose of the treatment.
Does acupuncture hurt? No it doesn't hurt! A lot of people possibly will associate it with injection, but it is very different. The needles are so fine that you would not even feel them when they go in. However it does not mean you would not feel anything at all, as when stimulated, they do create initial sensations like tightness, tingling or pressure, which settles after seconds.
Are the acupuncture needles sterilized? All the needles are sterilized and are disposed after single use.
How long does an acupuncture session last? Normally a session of acupuncture lasts between 35 to 70 minutes: it depends on the purpose of the treatment. It is not necessarily the longer the better, sometimes when left for too long, it can cause harm instead.
How many sessions do I need? This depends on the detailed situation, like what problem you are having, how long you have had it for and how severe it is. Also every individual's reaction towards the needles is different, so it is very difficult to give an estimate before consultation or treatment.
How much does an acupuncture session cost? We charge £45 per session. We also offer packages for acupuncture if you need it.
